Soldier Decries AWOL Arrest at Hospital
Wouldn't it be preferable for our GI's to walk away while still in one piece rather than press their luck with 'multiple' tours until something tragic happens? This administration and the political prostitutes of BOTH parties could care less about the 'troops' and have invaded two countries and plan to occupy them indefinately, killing and maiming the citizens. When millions of dollars has been unaccounted for in Iraq, ( who stole what? ), and corporate war profiteers are making a huge fortune in 'contracts', why should our fellow citizens be 'henchmen' for these disgusting creatures? They have swallowed the propaganda bait when they joined, and are seeing 'firsthand' how the war-mongering imperialists in DC really feel about them. When the hell are we gonna take to the streets in a general strike and shut the country down until everything the smirk has signed and passed is rescinded and voided, and we return to 1999, only this time with a better understanding of how the 'checks and balances' within government works, and how We The People must take responsibility for our actions or inaction in letting tyrants take charge.
Midway resets for 2008
It's been another rough year for video game developer Midway Games, which stumbled into the holiday shopping season with delayed releases and lowered revenue forecasts. But Hollywood and a fresh sign of interest from its largest shareholder may help the Chicago-based gamemaker put 2007 behind it. Viacom Chairman Sumner Redstone owns a nearly 90 percent stake in Midway. The company hasn't posted an annual profit since 1999, and it had to cut third-quarter and full-year revenue forecasts in October because of shipping delays. Yet, in spite of Midway's lackluster financial performance, Redstone expressed confidence in the company's ability to recover. The board of directors named his daughter, Shari Redstone, chairwoman. She was previously vice chair and is vice chair of Viacom and CBS.
Lockheed Martin receives $29M Hellfire contract
Lockheed Martin has announced it has received a $29 million production order from the U.S. Army for its Hellfire II air-to-ground missile. The order represents the final option under the U.S. Army's Hellfire II Buy 13 contract, which was for a total of $305.9 million. The production work will be performed in Ocala and Troy, Ala. Engineering, logistics and program management support will be done at Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT) Missiles and Fire Control in Orlando. The latest option includes 431 missiles, which will be delivered to the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force and the United Kingdom this year. The next production order, Buy 14, is expected to be executed this year, but the quantities have yet to be determined. .
